GRAHAM – Marvin Ridge and Myers Park won state championships during the 2020-21 NCHSAA Cheerleading Invitational on May 22 at Southern Alamance High School.

Teams competed across multiple divisions, showcasing a total of 65 performances.

Charlotte Catholic scored 88.6 to win the High School Non-Building Varsity division, while Marvin Ridge scored 82.5 to win the Super Varsity D1 division.

After the results were announced, Marvin Ridge Cheer tweeted: "This team showed up in every way possible today. After a year of uncertainty, they were CERTAIN. Prouder than proud!"

Catholic also won the 18th annual Carolina Cup for scoring the most points in traditional competition, regardless of division.

Myers Park finished second in the Small Varsity COED division, followed by Ardrey Kell in third.
