Pineville Nazarene to host Christmas events

Pineville Church of the Nazarene will host several Christmas-related events in the coming weeks.

The church will host Caroling Night on Wednesday, Dec. 18, from 7 to 8 p.m. Kids, teenagers and parents are invited to come dressed to walk and sing outside as they “spread Christmas cheer for all to hear,” according to a church announcement. Hot refreshments will follow.

Then, on Sunday, Dec. 22, the church’s pre-school and elementary-aged children’s groups will present their Christmas dinner programs. Pre-school children will host “One Holy Night” at 4 p.m., followed by dinner at 5 p.m. and the elementary children’s program, “An Island Christmas,” at 6 p.m.

All performances will take place in the church’s family life center, and tickets are on sale through the church office and cost $5 each, which covers admission and a ham and potatoes meal, or $2 for preschoolers, which covers admission and a chicken nuggets and macaroni and cheese meal.

Stough Memorial to host Christmas Eve service

Stough Memorial Baptist Church will host a Christmas Eve service on Dec. 24, a Tuesday, at 6 p.m.

The service will include baptism and a chance to celebrate “the gift of grace,” according to a news release. Those interested in being baptized should contact the church by Friday, Dec. 20. Find more information at www.mystough.org, or call 704-889-7665.

Pineville UMC celebrates the season

Pineville United Methodist Church will celebrate the Christmas season with several upcoming events.

The church is inviting children to travel to the Charlotte Motor Speedway on Saturday, Dec. 21, to view the speedway’s Christmas lights. Attendees should meet at the church at 3:30 p.m. and pre-register to attend the event at the church’s website, www.pinevilleumc.org, under “children’s events.” The cost to attend is $5.50 per person.

Pineville UMC also will host several candlelight communion Christmas Eve services on Dec. 24, a Tuesday. Services are scheduled for 5, 7 and 11 p.m. Find more information at the church’s website, www.pinevilleumc.org, or call 704-889-2022.

Christmas events, ministry opportunities at Harrison UMC

Following its 22nd annual Live Nativity event held Sunday, Dec. 15, Harrison United Methodist Church will host several Christmas-related services next week.

Candlelight communion Christmas Eve services are scheduled for Dec. 24, a Tuesday, at 2, 4, 7 and 11 p.m. Harrison also will wrap up the holiday season with a One Family Worship service on Dec. 29 during the 11 a.m. Sunday morning worship service. There will be no Sunday school, and children will attend the service with their parents. Child care will be provided for babies and toddlers. In other Harrison news, the church needs volunteers to help with its 17-week Room In the Inn program, which provides overnight housing to homeless individuals during the coldest months of the year – December to March. In addition to overnight lodging, the guests also receive transportation, meals and showers.

Candlelight Christmas Eve Gathering at The Well

The Well Church & Coffeehouse will host a Candlelight Christmas Eve Gathering event on Dec. 24, a Tuesday, at 8 p.m.

The event will offer the community a chance to celebrate Christmas “surrounded by candlelight, familiar Christmas songs, family and friends sharing in the faith, hope and love of Jesus together,” according to a church announcement.
