Elijah Hood was the leading rusher for Charlotte Catholic last season, gaining nearly 2,000 yards, and all indications are he’ll once again be a force for the Cougars — and North Carolina as a whole.
Hood rushed for three first-half touchdowns in Charlotte Catholic’s 41-0 win over South Mecklenburg last week, including a scintillating 40-yard jaunt in which he exhibited speed, power and sheer nastiness.
But it hardly was a one-man show.
Senior Alex Sabates also ran for a pair of touchdowns, both from two yards out, and 5-foot-7 junior Drew Tomsho thrilled Charlotte Catholic fans with a number of exciting bursts, including one he took 59 yards for a score.
