Teen OK after armed robbery at Smoothie King
Police say two armed men entered the Smoothie King in the Arboretum shopping center on Monday night, Nov. 5, robbing the store and a 17-year-old employee.

The men had a semi-automatic handgun, according to a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police report. They demanded cash from the employee, and got away with money from the cash register and the teen’s phone and wallet, according to the report, which did not list the amount of cash stolen.

The employee was not hurt in the robbery. Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.

Man robbed, beaten near Yellow Rose Café
A 22-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint Saturday, Nov. 3, near the Yellow Rose Café in the 7600 block of Sharon Lakes Road.

The man told police that two people approached him with a gun and stole his wallet, Honduras identification card and $400 in cash, according to a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police report. One of the suspects punched the man, according to the report, causing minor injuries.

Woman injured when struck by car
A 34-year-old woman was hit by a car Sunday, Nov. 4, in the 2700 block of Valencia Terrace.

The woman told police that a man pulled out and hit her with his vehicle, then did not stop to help or to leave any contact information, according to a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police report. The incident is being treated as a hit-and-run.

The woman suffered minor injuries, according to the report, and was treated at the scene.

• 8100 block of Kapplewood Court: $1,500 cash and $50 wallet stolen. Nov. 5
• 11300 block of Vista Haven Drive: $304 camera stolen. Nov. 5
• 800 block of Vista Grande Circle: $1 in change stolen. Nov. 5
• 7500 block of Park Vista Circle: $200 damage in break-in. Nov. 5
• 8200 block of Kapplewood Court: $30 wireless router stolen. Nov. 5

Financial crimes
• 1300 block of Abbey Place: Identity stolen to open Dish Network account. Nov. 5
• 500 block of Wakefield Drive: Person swindled out of $366. Nov. 5

Shoplifting
• Walmart, 1830 Galleria Blvd.: Reading glasses and lotion, worth $16.74 total, stolen. Nov. 4
• Kangaroo Express, 4500 Randolph Road: $18 in beer and energy drinks stolen. Nov. 4
• Food Lion, 931 N. Wendover Road: $34 in food stolen. Nov. 5
• Belk, SouthPark Mall, 4400 Sharon Road: Jewelry, shoes and shirts, worth $402 total, stolen. Nov. 5

Theft
• Carmel Middle School, 5001 Camilla Drive: $300 speakers stolen. Oct. 24
• 16000 block of Lancaster Highway: $120 stolen. Nov. 4
• 4600 block of Rockford Court: License plate stolen. Nov. 4
