Kimberly Horton is Mecklenburg County’s new revaluation manager.
Horton, a former tax administrator in Chatham and Alamance counties, comes into the tax assessor’s office at a time when the department is dealing with a review of the 2011 property tax revaluation. Many in Charlotte have complained that the revaluation must have been flawed because so many saw their home’s property value increase.
Horton has already started in her new role, taking the spot of Chuck Hicks, who retired in April.
