There are a number of events going on during the city’s New Year’s Eve celebrations in Uptown this weekend.

Things start at noon Saturday, Dec. 31, with First Night Kids. Festivities for children will include storytelling, music, juggling, magic, games and a percussion petting zoo. Those events run until 5 p.m. around the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Children 4 and younger get in free; children 5 to 12 need a $5 wristband

More adult-centered events start at 8 p.m. with music and games. The Atlanta Party Band will play from 10 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Adult wristbands are $10. Find more information at the event website, www.firstnightcharlotte.com.
