Home sales drop for September

Real estate trends for the region mimicked numbers in south Charlotte for September, with both the number of homes and their average sales price dropping when compared to August.

For September, 1,970 homes sold at an average price of $196,686 in the greater Charlotte area. Those numbers are down when compared to August, when 2,289 homes sold at an average price of $205,854.

It’s the same situation seen on a smaller scale last month in south Charlotte, where 178 homes sold for an average sales price of $307,967. That compares negatively to August’s numbers of 209 homes at an average price of $356,846.

The Charlotte Regional Realtor Association provides housing statistics each month. Check the Nov. 10 issue of South Charlotte Weekly for a listing of all the homes sold in south Charlotte for October.
