South Mecklenburg Presbyterian Church, 8601 Bryant Farms Road, is collecting sheets for The Center of Hope.

The homeless shelter, which serves women and children, is operated by The Salvation Army and has an immediate need for new and gently used sheets – flat and fitted, twin size preferred, though any size can be used.

The shelter uses 3,000 sheets in a typical year. The Center of Hope is currently serving around 350 women and children, though they only have 224 beds and must make pallets of blankets and sheets on the floor of the cafeteria to serve everyone.

Donated sheets can be dropped off at the church, or people can donate money to the church in check form. For more information, contact Sue Slezycki at 704-321-2758.
