‘Tailgate and Donate’ event fills truck for Harvest Center

Students at Charlotte Christian School came together recently for the sixth annual Tailgate and Donate event sponsored by the Parent Teacher Fellowship, where they filled a truck with 18,900 take-out trays to be used for hot meals and 954 jars of peanut butter and jelly for the Harvest Center in Charlotte. The center serves Charlotte’s homeless, working to provide hot meals, groceries, clothing, blankets, medical testing and youth programs.

Charlotte Christian adopted the Harvest Center as their local missions project. In the last six years, students and their parents have donated 5,087 canned foods, 17,700 food service gloves, 63,300 take-out trays and 87,000 wrapped forks and napkins for the center’s families and individuals in need.
