Two Charlotte Christian juniors won top honors at the 2012 Congressional Art Competition for U.S. Rep. Sue Myrick’s District 9.

Carson Kowar won first place and Kate Condon won third place in the competition, which provided an opportunity to showcase the talent of the area’s high school students.

Carson also received round-trip airline tickets to Washington, D.C., where she will be honored for her artistic achievement during a ceremony in June. Her art will be displayed for a year in the Cannon Tunnel in Washington, D.C., representing District 9.

This is the third year in a row a Charlotte Christian student has won the award.
