Charlotte Christian juniors win writing awards

Three Charlotte Christian juniors earned writing awards in the 2012 Mid-Carolina Regional Scholastic Art & Writing Competition, including one Gold Key award. The winner will advance to the national competition in New York.

The following students earned scholastic writing awards: Megan McManus (Gold Key for personal essay/memoir and Silver Key for short story); Gigi Bailey (Silver Key for two poems); and Michael Keener (Honorable Mention for short story.)

The competition is one of the most prestigious recognition programs for student achievement in visual arts and creative writing in the United States. Winners for the visual arts category from Charlotte Christian were announced last month.
