Alec Hartman, a seventh-grade cellist at Quail Hollow Middle School, was selected for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Middle School Honors Orchestra. The orchestra features 85 string players from the district.
Hartman will join his fellow orchestral members in performances on Feb. 3 and 4 at Mallard Creek High School.
Hartman studies under Leigh Marsh at Quail Hollow Middle.
