Cotswold Elementary recognized for character development

Cotswold Elementary School has been selected as a 2011 National School of Character for building an outstanding character development program.

“This award is such great recognition for our staff and students,” Principal Denise Hearne said.  “After being recognized in 2000 as a National School of Character, Cotswold has continued to maintain our focus on respect, responsibility and caring.”

The Character Education Partnership selected 38 public schools, three charter schools, two private schools and one school district across the country for recognition.  Cotswold Elementary was the only school in the state to make the list.

The schools will be honored at the National Forum on Character Education, scheduled for October in San Francisco.
