TYPES OF ADS

1. STANDARD LINE AD: 
   • Line ads can be placed in a number of available categories (see “Categories” for details). 
   • All line ad rates are calculated per week and are based on 5 lines of text (22 characters per line).  See “Rates” for more details.
   
2. DISPLAY AD: 
   • Display ads are available in a number of sizes (click here) and allow extra room for advertisers to include headers, logos, pictures and/or additional graphics. 
   • Display ad rates differ based on the size of the ad and the number of weeks advertised.

 HOW TO PLACE AN AD

Standard Line Ad (3 Different Options)

2. FAX SUBMISSIONS:  Complete the attached form (click here) and fax to
   704-849-2504. Rates start at $22.50 per week.
3. PHONE ORDERS:  For those who do not have online access or fax capabilities, please call 704-849-2261. Rates start at $22.50 per week.

   • Please note:  High resolution graphics (needed if the ad is to be produced by the Weekly newspapers) and / or camera ready art (ads that have already been created and sized properly) will need to be e-mailed separately to classifieds@thecharlotteweekly.com.  Acceptable formats include Adobe Acrobat PDF, Adobe Photoshop CS, TIFF and JPEG.

PAYMENT

• All classified ads MUST be prepaid.  Once your ad has been received, a Weekly representative will contact you within 1 to 2 business days to schedule payment. 
• The Weekly newspapers accept Visa and MasterCard.  There are no refunds for cancelled ads. 

DEADLINES
Please note: The Charlotte Weekly and Union County Weekly papers are published on Friday. 

• STANDARD LINE AD: 
  - Ads received by Monday at 5:00 p.m. will run in that week’s publications.  Ads received after the deadline will run the following week.
• DISPLAY AD: 
  - Camera ready ads (ads that do not require resizing, creating or adjustments of any type) must be received by Monday at 5:00 p.m. to run in that week’s publications. 
  - Ad builds (ads that require resizing, creating or adjustments of any type) must be received by Friday at noon (one week prior to publication).  Ads received after the deadline will run the following week.

• All ads must be approved by the date indicated on the proof.  If approvals / corrections are not received by that date, the ad will run as provided on the proof. 

ADDITIONAL Q&A

 Which newspaper will my classified ad be featured in? 
The Weekly Classified Network is composed of 2 papers: The Charlotte Weekly and the Union County Weekly.  The ad rates listed above include placement in both papers, which reach a weekly readership of more than 100,000. 

What day is the paper distributed? 
Both papers are dated and distributed on Friday of each week.  

Where are the newspapers distributed? 
Both papers comprise a mixture of retail and home delivery. 

• The Charlotte Weekly includes more than 500 retail distribution points in South Charlotte, the University area and Uptown and is home delivered to an extensive list of neighborhoods in the same areas such as Arbor Hills, Ballantyne, Beverly Woods, Eastover, Foxcroft, Highland Creek, Myers Park, Piper Glen and Wellington.  
•  The Union County Weekly can be found at neighborhood and retail locations throughout western Union County and the southern border of Mecklenburg County. 

Does it cost extra to run my classified ad in both the Charlotte Weekly and Union County Weekly papers? 
No.  For one low price, your ad will run in both papers – a total circulation of 60,000.

Can I choose to run my ad in only one of your papers (either the Charlotte Weekly or the Union County Weekly)? 
No.  The Weekly Classified Network is designed to deliver the same content to all of our readers.  The only way to target a specific area is to run an advertisement outside of the classified section.  In order to do so, please contact our sales department at 704-849-2261 for rates.    

How much does the newspaper cost? 
Both of our publications are FREE. 

How can I get a newspaper? 
44,000 copies of our combined audited weekly circulation of 60,000 papers are directly home delivered to neighborhoods in north and south Charlotte, as well as Union County.  The remaining 16,000 are distributed to retail locations such as Harris Teeter, the YMCA, Chick-fil-A, Bojangles’, Autobell Car Wash and McAlister’s Deli. 

Can I place my classified ad online as opposed to (or in addition to) the newspaper? 
Online classifieds currently are not available through the Weekly newspapers.  However, as we continue to expand our online capabilities, we ask that you check back regularly for updates.
