Watch ‘the transit of Venus’

People are invited to watch a once-in-a-lifetime event in June at the Discovery Place.

On June 5, Venus will pass between the Earth and the sun. It won’t happen again until December 2117.

People can come watch the planet’s movement on June 5 between 6 p.m. and when the sun sets from the third level of the Discovery Place parking deck. It’s free to attend.

The parking deck is located at 6th Street and Church Street in uptown Charlotte.
