Charlotte Symphony to highlight ‘King of Pop’

The Charlotte Symphony is getting ready to perform a number of works by the late Michael Jackson.

The program will go through each era of Jackson’s innovative musical career, led by conductor Brent Havens and accompanied by a full band, backup singers and entertainer James Delisco. Fans also can create a video of themselves dancing to their favorite Jackson song and upload it to the Charlotte Symphony Facebook.com page for a chance to win tickets and dance onstage during the performance of “Beat It.”

The performance is March 10 at 8 p.m. at Ovens Auditorium, 2700 E. Independence Blvd. Tickets start at $31.50 and can be purchased at the symphony’s website, www.charlottesymphony.org, or by calling 704-972-2000.
