Charlotte Weekly’s first writer since the publication’s premiere in May 2002, Heidi authors Culinary Corner. Between columns, she teaches cooking classes at Queens University of Charlotte, Reid’s Fine Foods, private gatherings, and community and corporate team-building events. She also has her own catering business.
She has served as a judge for the internationally acclaimed James Beard Cookbook Awards and contributes to the restaurant listings on WSOC’s Go Carolinas Web site. She also has coordinated the cooking classes and culinary experiences for the past several Charlotte Wine and Food Weekends, held every other year.
Prior to writing for Charlotte Weekly, Heidi was The Leader’s food editor for 10 years and wrote the Dining Out column for Charlotte Theatre Magazine. In the early 1990s, she hosted “Easy but Elegant Cooking” on public television and has since appeared on WBTV, WBT radio and WFAE public radio, including “Charlotte Talks.”
A native of Jacksonville, Fla., Heidi is a 1979 graduate of Queens College in Charlotte.
